Records and events

In the summer, there was the first training and selection camp for the coming world record attempts in Perris Valley. The jumpers made two 48-way diamond attempts and the first ever 25-way night diamond. All jumps were made in July.

In October an international team built an 18-way diamond in Empuriabrava, Spain.

Competitions

The 11th World Championships in CF were held in Rijeka, Croatia. Competition time was from the 24th to the 28th of September. Russia won the rotation and the 8-speed event. USA won the sequential event. Russia set a new world record in 8-speed; they built a plane in 23.37″. The US team set the sequential record at 13 points. A surprising thing was the airplane change. The organization decided to change the MI-8 to a LET 410 for the training week. The jury allowed one free test jumps for all the teams. There were only three teams competing in the 8-speed event.
